GPO Lahore – A Timeless Symbol of Communication and Heritage

Established in 1887 during the British era, this magnificent structure was built to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The GPO was designed by the renowned architect Sir Ganga Ram, often remembered as the “Father of Modern Lahore.”
The building’s red-brick exterior, arched verandas, high ceilings, and elegant clock tower reflect classic British colonial architecture. Despite being over a century old, the structure remains beautifully preserved and symbolizes Lahore’s rich cultural past.Even in the age of email and instant messaging, the GPO remains one of the busiest post offices in the country.
